Ah, the joys of restoring old code.
This was once a pretty snazzy website 10 years ago before bit decay brought it down to this sorry state. Please close your eyes and imagine how cool it once was. Thank you
This is the discontinued XNA/C# game Mach Angels, which would have eventually hit the Microsoft Indie Games store for XBox360. Due to the death of XNA, Xbox 360 Indie games, and me getting a job making Forza Horizon (1) this game was left in its undeveloped state with these less than stellar graphics.
This video features the AI in combat against itself and the player. You'll notice the G-Force warning light and the blackout effect fading in. While based loosely on the Ace Combat series, the aircraft takes a little more interaction to fly with actual warning lights and a menu system to control landing gear, swing wings, afterburners, stealth, etc. The framerate is slow because this is a middle-tier 15 year old Windows 7 machine capturing it's own video as it's running the game.
The following video demonstrates carrier operations (takeoff and landing)
Story system responding to in-game events and actions.
The game allows landings on airfields, VTOL, aircraft carriers, and docking with the Stratocarrier - a giant nuclear-powered flying wing with four docking bays for fighter jets. Here I am taking it for a spin, though it's not technically supposed to be flyable by the player.
